A big thank you to everyone that participated in the 2014 Holiday Coloring Contest! This was the first year of our now annual tradition and we got a great response! There were over 35 submissions from our youth in the Therapeutic Foster Care program. Children of all ages participated from all over the state. There were some tough decisions to be made considering we have some very talented youth! Everyone that submitted artwork received a certificate of participation. After much thought and consideration, the following are the 2014 Holiday Coloring Contest Winners:
The Grand Prize Winner came from a 15 year old in the Charleston region, K.L. Their artwork was featured on SCYAP's Christmas card that was sent to all of our amazing foster parents. K.L. was awarded a $50 gift card to Wal-Mart and received a certificate for her hard work!
The Myrtle Beach region coloring all-star is A.B. who is 11 years old. Each of the regional winners received a $25 gift card to Wal-Mart as well as a certificate of excellence.
The Midlands regional winner was R.S. who is 15 years old. Many children also chose to create their own holiday masterpiece!
TA-DA! A.F., 16 years old, colored this beautiful stocking to win the gold for the Greenville office!
Florence has some talented children, but S.C. really showed their artistic gift. S.C. is 9 years old.
Charleston's regional winner is L.W. who is 10 years old. We loved all the colors!
While this was an enjoyable activity for our SCYAP children, coloring is also very therapeutic. Drawing, coloring, and designing are great ways for children to express themselves, vent their feelings and frustrations, and even help build motor skills. We are excited about continuing this fun and healing holiday tradition for our foster parents and SCYAP children for years to come!

Re: 2014 Holiday Coloring Contest Winners
Very beautiful children's drawings. I also painted beautifully in my childhood. I also wrote a letter to Santa Claus, so that he brought me a gift. I believed in Santa Claus up to 11 years old. Now I am 23 years old and I am no writing Santa Claus letters, now I am writing to a homework help online service to help me with my homework. I’ll probably write to them until I graduate from the university.
